Mission
The association was established in 1981, and founded by artist Sharon Rachal. Sharon is a talented artist that shared her passion for art and teaching. She made many contributions to establishing the Yucaipa Valley Art Association in our community. Earlier in the association's history, Sharon offered art classes and demonstrations to art students that took her classes at her art and framing studio in Yucaipa. Below is one of Sharon's beautiful watercolor art paintings of a small bird on fall colored branches.

Types of Art
This creativity is possible through the exploration and use of various art mediums, methods, materials, techniques and technologies such as digital art and photography. The types of artwork that we promote and accept for entry in our monthly shows and exhibitions are wall art that can be displayed on an easel, wall or frame. This includes artwork using mediums such as oils, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, digital illustrative art and photography that have been created by an artist or photographer.
