2026 YVAA Spring Art Show

This year, YVAA was a part of the City of Yucaipa’s Music and Arts Festival and held a two-day art exhibition inside the Yucaipa Performing Arts Center located at 12062 California Street, Yucaipa, on Friday, May 1st from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm and on Saturday, May 2nd from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. 

 

This year’s YVAA Spring Art Show theme was “Color your world with art!” The show featured many creative and colorful art entries in several categories including; oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, digital art, and photography. Both members and non-members were a part of this art show. The Entry Deadline has passed and YVAA is no longer taking entry applications for the 2026 Spring Art Show. 

Visitors were able to immerse themselves in the world of visual arts through the creative and colorful art and photography from YVAA members, community artists, photographers, and local high school students. The art exhibition promised to inspire and engage visitors of all ages! Visitors were also purchase artwork on display listed for sale.

 

The show had a bake sale, art greeting cards for purchase, and an opportunity drawing for some great prizes like gift baskets, mini art works, gift cards and much more! There was sure to be something for everyone. The art show awards ceremony was held from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, May 2nd. 

 

The Music and Arts festival was large two-day event with thousands of visitors attending. This year the Music and Arts Festival included YVAA’s art and photography show, an immersive light projection art show, a flower show, a gem and mineral show, food and merchandise vendors, a beer garden, kid’s zone, outdoor stage and live music performances. There was sure to be something for everyone.  Admission to the YVAA art show was free, the public was welcomed to attend.

Visitors were able to step inside the Yucaipa Performing Arts Center theater for an immersive art show experience inspired by the Northern Lights and the beauty of Yosemite. Through 360° projections, lighting, and music, viewers were surrounded by a relaxing visual journey through nature. 

This special experience was available during the festival weekend plus the day before and after, giving visitors even more chances to enjoy it! This attraction was organized by the City of Yucaipa, Yucaipa Performing Arts Center.

 

Visitors were able to stop by anytime during selected days, for this 15-20 minute experience that ran continuously throughout operating hours. Visitors were able to plan their visit by purchasing tickets at: Yucaipa Performing Arts

The 2026 Spring Art Show was held inside the Yucaipa Performing Arts Center. Visitors were able to check out the flower show, view the "Mother and Daughter" exhibition in the gallery and then walk through the larger YVAA art exhibition to see all the art on display at the show. This exhibition has some amazing art and creativity from community members, and students. 

 

Visitors had a chance at the opportunity drawing for a chance to win some amazing prizes or to pickup up some tasty bake sale treats and buy art or greeting cards during the show. 

During the show, there was a continuous light projection show with music playing inside the YPAC theater hall.  Visitors enjoyed this entire immersive art experience and then continued to the light projection room that provided both music and famous locations art projections that transported viewers.  

The festival was great art experience for YVAA members and visitors alike!

Art Show Judges

Joe Oakes

Award-winning artist, Joe A. Oakes paints tributes to the mountains, canyons and valleys in the hopes it will slow us down long enough to appreciate them. For Joe, every painting is a challenge to examine the colors of the world and reconnect with nature. His landscapes of the West and Southwest are about the joy of nature and the colors it offers us. He paints with colors that evoke feelings of the first brilliant seconds of sunrise and the last fiery moments of sunset.

Joe holds a BFA from CSU, Fullerton and his awards include: Third Place, “Sears Invitational”, Utah Tech, 2024, Best in Show, “Nature of Color Show” Art Brut 27, 2020, First Place, “Visions”, CCMA, Ontario, CA, 2019. His work has been included in many museum shows including, Arts Thrive, Albuquerque Museum, Sears Invitational, Sears Museum at Utah Tech and Art in the West, High Desert Museum, Bend, OR. And published, most recently, in Artists Magazine’s “Acrylic Works 12 - The Best of Acrylic”.

Josh Endres

Josh Endres is a five time internationally awarded photographer and author who has lived in Yucaipa his entire life. Josh’s photography has captured the amazing landscapes of the high Sierras, Yosemite, Yucaipa and the San Gorgonio wilderness.

 

Along with prints and clothing, he has published two coffee-table style books that will be available for purchase at the gallery and online. His published books are photography and story books featuring some of his spectacular photography.

 

The first book is about experiences covering 10 years in the High Sierra. His second book is a tribute to Yucaipa and the surrounding mountains through stories and photos from his own backyard. As Josh puts it, "this town gave me a love of exploring and being outdoors. I want to give that back to the community.

The YVAA 2026 Spring Art Show exhibition had eleven art categories that featured some of the most fantastic and creative art that showcased the talent of all artists. Categories included oil, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, digital art, art teacher/professional, photography, enhanced photography, photography teacher/professional and high school student art media. 2026 Spring Art Show

Artist Rachel Renteria won Best of Show for her Entry #113 titled "Love is Blind", a dramatic black and white underwater diver and gators scene painted in oils.

Artist Mario Martinez won Best Use of Color for his Entry # 803,  titled "Egret at Dusk", a captivating photo of an egret  at the lake in contrast sunset lighting.

Artist Patrick Hamman won Popular Vote and first place in acrylics for his Entry #310, titled "Under Sierra Stars" an awe inspring nature camping scene under a starry sky painted in acrylics.

Summer Public Art Exhibition

YVAA is pleased to announce that there will be a summer art exhibition opportunity for YVAA members! Thanks to the organizing efforts of Enrique Lima, Art Exhibition Manager, and the cooperation of Village Bread, we can continue to display YVAA member art through the summer at Village Bread Calimesa. This summer art exhibition will display creative and colorful artwork from YVAA member artists in various mediums including oils, watercolor, mixed media and photography. YVAA members can submit up to two (2) entry submissions for the Village Bread exhibit. Enter and share your art in public this summer!


•    This is a three-month public exhibition that will run from June 1, 2026 to August 31, 2026.
•    The deadline for members to submit their applications is May 15, 2026. There is no entry fee for members.
•    Members can submit a maximum of 2 art or photography wired pieces for display that do not exceed 36”H x 36” W.
•    Must be a current member with an active membership for 2026.


A quick way to enter is to print the form from the link below, fill it out and take a snapshot with your phone. Then send in your photo application and image photos as attachments to YVAA.

Once the exhibition is up, members and the public can come and checkout this public art display at Village Bread Calimesa located at 1007 Calimesa Blvd, Suite R, Calimesa. They are open daily from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Come checkout the new exhibit that just went up at Village Bread. Thanks to the organizing efforts of Enrique Lima and the cooperation of Village Bread, we can continue to display YVAA member art this spring at Village Bread Calimesa. 


We had a fantastic response to this art exhibition this Spring. Many talented and new YVAA artists submitted applications to be a part of this public art exhibition.

YVAA Art Exhibition

This year, the Yucaipa Valley Art Association (YVAA) was exhibiting at the Yucaipa Performing Arts Center (YPAC) gallery in the historic part of the town. The YPAC Art Gallery exhibition was open for viewing from Nov. 12, 2025 through April 22nd, 2026. The exhibition featured artwork from eight (8) YVAA members. Artists that had artwork on display are: Aubrey Sanchez, Bethanne Keirnan, Debra Wick, Holli Z. Austin, Karen Hoak, Mario Martinez, Tom Fontanes and Zully Martinez.

 

The YPAC and YVAA held an artists' reception at the gallery on Thursday, Nov. 13th, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. YPAC art teacher, Daryl Bryan welcomed the artists and hosted the event that evening. The gallery opening provided an opportunity to talk directly with the artists and get some insight into their art and photography inspiration. It was a fun and engaging art event!

 

Members, family, and friends were able to attend this reception and to see the Art Exhibition at this special event. 

A second viewing was open on Saturday, Nov. 29th from 12:00 pm to 5:30 pm at the YPAC gallery during the City of Yucaipa's Winter Festival. Winterfest is a large community event that includes YVAA’s winter art exhibition, a tree lighting ceremony, Santa’s workshop, igloos, food, vendors, music, and lots more that members and their families were able to enjoy together. The YVAA Art Exhibition ran from November 12, 2025, to April 22nd, 2026. Thank you to all the YVAA members that participated in this public exhibition.
